I felt like I was in a romance movie…and it went something like this….
On Friday night before bed we spoke
"Would you mind coming to my place for about six thirty?" he smiled
"Of course" I agreed "what’s the plan?" he laughed and told me it was a surprise
"but what should I wear?" I asked hoping to get more information
"Whatever you feel good in" he replied
As we put down the phone I giggled and really wondered what he had in mind. I slept well thinking about the day.
On Saturday night I arrived at his place pretty excited, I had done my hair and was wearing a new dress with new underwear, stockings, heels and perfume. Although I was dressed up I had hoped that we were going to stay in as we can go to restaurants any time of the year and it would be nice to be in.
He met me from my car, kissed me slowly and then walked me in, taking my coat and bag and kissing me again.
As I walked into the room tears sprang in my eyes (I don’t know why I get quite emotional at times) he had gone to soooooo much effort.
He had dimmed the lights and placed the dining table in the centre of the room. It was decorated ready for dinner and he had added beautiful candles and pebbles. Also on the table was an enormous bunch of flowers, a card and two packages wrapped in heart paper and a chocolate bunny.
I couldn’t speak! In all my life no one has ever gone to so much trouble for me.
He sat me down and I smelt the flowers then I opened everything…the card was stunning and he had written a poem inside! The first package was quite amusing we had read each others mind, he had framed a photo of us both and that’s the gift that I gave him lol. The second I was in awe, he had used a photo that I took of a day we spent in the park and written a poem over it and then got this made up into a large frame. I won’t type the poem but I will say that the last line said
“My timeless sunshine…Angel”
“I love it babe” I said hugging him tightly “I love you” I said straight after
“I love you too” he replied and that’s when it felt like it couldn’t be real.
We talked for a while and then he left me putting his apron on to go and finish cooking. I sat sipping wine and listening to Jazz music.
Dinner was amazing, he had cooked me Garlic Bread, followed by this lamb dish and roasted vegetables which he had seasoned with some beautiful herbs and then chocolate cheesecake for dessert. He was like Master chef!
I felt really beautiful and special just like the time of our first date.
After we relaxed a while I gave him a little peep of my underwear and he excitedly said “WOW and I thought I already had dessert” or something like that and I'm sure you can guess how the night ended.
But wait…there is more..... In the morning he booked a trip to Antigua for us both I am SO excited we are going in June so we get to continue this romance hand in hand on the beach…
So that was my Valentines I know that I am lucky and blessed to have such a lovely guy in my life and I remain eternally grateful to whatever forces that brought him to me. :)
